Archive

Archive es el nombre de un grupo musical británico, de tendencia Trip hop, formado en 1994 en Londres. Archive fue creado por los músicos Darius Keeler y Danny Griffiths en 1994, partiendo de la disuelta banda Genocide 2, a los que se unieron la vocalista Roya Arab y el rapero Rosko John para crear su primer álbum

Entonces su estilo fue identificado con el Dark Trip Hop, el rap y el rock alternativo, estilos en los que por entonces destacaba en el panorama británico la banda de referencia Massive Attack. Tras la edición de "Lodinium", Arab y Rosko se separaron del grupo en 1995 a pesar de la buena acogida de la crítica.

1999. Take my head

En 1997 Darius y Danny refundaron Archive junto con una nueva vocalista, Suzanne Wooder y juntos crearon su segundo álbum en 1999 "Take My Head", esta vez su estilo evolucionaría hacia una combinación de Trip hop sinfónico y pop, mucho más melódico que su predecesor.

2002. You all look the same to me

You All Look the Same to Me is Archive's third studio album. In this album Archive used Craig Walker for vocals and gradually turned away from their roots in Electronica and Trip hop and towards more psychedelic and progressive style of bands such as Pink Floyd, Mogwai and The Secret Machines. They have chosen an extremely Post-rock genre mixed with Progressive rock, Electronica and in some tracks Trip hop.[citation needed] This album is Archive's first album with their new vocalist Craig Walker, formerly of Power of Dreams, a Pop/Rock band built around him and Keith Walker.

Lights is the fifth album by British trip-hop group Archive, released in 2006.
