Dinah Washington (1946-1954)

Ruth Lee Jones, Dinah Washington, cantante estadounidense de rhythm and bluesjazzblues. Conocida por apelativos como La reina del blues, Queen D o Miss D, se trata de una de las mejores y principales voces femeninas de la música negra. Ha influido en varias cantantes destacables de su generación, como Nancy WilsonEsther Phillips y Diane Schuur. Dinah Washington expresó en sus letras y conciertos las aspiraciones y decepciones de la comunidad negra, siempre con un cierto humor sardónico.
